Mac app and local data

Privacy Policy for CleverCapture

CleverCapture is designed as a local macOS app. Screenshots, screen clips, OCR text and PDF files are created on the device. The app does not use advertising, tracking or web analytics and does not automatically transmit created content to SmartLehrer or third parties.

Local processing

CleverCapture processes screen captures, images, clips, OCR text and PDF files locally on the Mac. Content is not automatically transmitted to SmartLehrer.

Screen Recording

CleverCapture requires the system permission that macOS calls "Screen Recording" for screenshots, screen clips and window or area selection. macOS requires this permission even for individual screenshots; it does not mean that CleverCapture continuously records the screen. CleverCapture only accesses screen content when users use a corresponding capture feature. The permission is managed by macOS and can be revoked in System Settings.

Camera and microphone

Camera and microphone access are optional. They are only used when users enable the camera overlay or microphone recording for clips.

Files and storage locations

Created files are stored in locations chosen by users or in designated local app folders. Exports to Downloads or other folders only happen after a user action.

OCR

OCR is used to recognize and copy text from screenshots locally. OCR results are not automatically transmitted to SmartLehrer or third parties.

No analytics and no tracking

CleverCapture contains no advertising SDKs, user tracking or marketing analytics.

Support requests

If users contact support by email or contact form, the submitted information is processed to handle the request. Screenshots or sample files should only be submitted voluntarily and only when needed for troubleshooting.

Rights

Data subjects may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Requests can be sent to kontakt@smartlehrer.de.
